No Generative AI Policy

No part of the work that I do for your branding, copy, imagery or anything else on your website will be made using any generative AI engine. No ChatGPT, Claude or other AI entity will be used to produce content of any sort for your website.

Your data, copy, images or anything else provided will not be fed into an LLM database. AI may be built into some tools, but I will not be actively choosing to use any generative AI.

Any ancillary professionals who also create work for your website - copywriters, photographers, branding experts, etc., that I recommend you work with, will also be asked to adhere to this policy.

You can trust that the work we do for you is made by us, using our creativity, skills and is made by humans.

As a client, I’m also going to ask you to not use generative AI. While AI may be in the software you use and accessibility assists such as dictation or writing software, I’m asking you to not use something like ChatGPT to create your content. If this is a problem for you, we may not be a good fit.

Important - No part of the work I create for you is to be fed into an LLM (generative AI) to create your feedback, for ideation, image manipulation or any other reason. Doing so is grounds for cancelling our work together. Language to this effect is also in your contract.

Why? Besides the fact that I do not want any work I create to be part of an LLM’s database, using it does you a disservice as well.

As a designer, I need to know what you really think, not what an LLM predicts. A chatbot can’t truly sound like you, no matter how much “training” you do. It’s a prediction engine and can only come up with what at most, is an average. Your writing needs to come from the heart if you’re going to have people connect with you.

If you use ChatGPT to fill out your information, write your copy, or feed your images into Midjourney, you’re really selling yourself short. You cannot copyright the output either.

Images fed into things like Midjourney always give an uncanny valley of unreality. Again, you lose out with a lack of authenticity and people have no reason to trust you.

There’s no authenticity when a robot writes your stuff. And it always shows. Nothing is a faster turn off than realising someone couldn’t be bothered to take the time to do the work themselves.
